Final five minutes bury Mizzou in Manhattan
MANHATTAN, KS--After 33 minutes and 44 seconds, Missouri and Kansas State had settled absolutely nothing. The Tigers weathered a 10-0 Kansas State run to start the game and had tied the Wildcats 60-60 on a Mike Dixon Jr. three-pointer with 6:16 to play. Wildcats star guard Jacob Pullen was on the bench with four fouls and the Tigers looked poise to pull an upset on the road.
"We came out and took their best shot," Mike Anderson said. "It's a 60-60 game with five minutes left. What more can you ask for?"
The Tigers could have asked for two things: Five more minutes and anything-anything at all-from a forward not named Laurence Bowers.
