Coming off the heels of a thrilling 76-74 comeback win over Appalachian State on Friday, Mississippi State returns to the hardwood tonight to host Detroit at 7 p.m.
The Bulldogs are looking for their third straight win to start the season for the sixth time under head coach Rick Stansbury.
MSU and Detroit have only met one time previously with the Titans claiming a 86-62 victory at the Motor City Classic in 1968.
The Bulldogs have also not faired well against teams from the Horizon League historically. State sports a 2-4 record all-time against the 10 teams that make up that league.
The Bulldogs enter the game shooting 40.7-percent from the field and averaging 75.5 points a game this season. Mississippi State is also knocking down 40-percent from 3-point range and 71.9-percent from the free throw line. They have outrebounded their opponents by three and limited them to 36.6-percent shooting and 69.5 points per contest.
