Bulldogs struggle in exhibition action
STARKVILLE, Miss., - Mississippi State's exhibition game with Lindsey Wilson did not count in the record books and the Bulldogs played like it.
MSU never asserted themselves in the contest went into halftime trailing before pulling away late in a 75-66 win.
"It's very obvious for us that we weren't very good defensively," said MSU head coach Rick Stansbury. "(Lindsey Wilson's) guards went and manufactured a basket anytime that they wanted to manufacture a basket. We weren't very smooth at either end. We played a lot of different rotations and a lot of different guys. It just wasn't very good at either end and we've got to get better."
The Bulldogs shot 51.1-percent from the floor and converted 6-of-18 from 3-point range on the afternoon.
Ravern Johnson led all scorers with 25 points shooting 9-of-15 from the floor including three treys.
