Carr starting to shine
Mississippi State fans have been waiting all season for Michael Carr to make his first impact for the Bulldogs.
The talented former four-star prospect arrived on campus just before the start of fall camp putting him behind the learning curve of the other incoming freshmen. Carr's star finally began to shine this past weekend getting his first touches and also causing the game-winning fumble for MSU.
"I was just doing my job, doing what I have to do and doing what the coaches tell me to," Carr said.
The 6-foot-1, 195-pounder got the first touch on offense during the second half against UAB taking a reverse 20-yards on his first carrier opportunity.
"I didn't know (I was getting the ball) until the beginning of the second half," Carr said. "It was very exciting to know that you are going to get into the game. It was thrilling and very, very exciting. It was pretty exciting going up the sidelines and then cutting up and making decisions up the field."
Carr's run helped set up a LaDarius Perkins 2-yard touchdown later in the drive. Carr also had another 3-yard run later on in the third quarter.
