Week 4: Grading the Gators

InsidetheGators.com The Gators' 48-14 win over Kentucky last Saturday night at Florida Field was the team's best overall performance to date. In this edition of Grading the Gators, we break down each unit. Which groups stood out above the others? And which ones didn't? Here's our take:
THE BACKFIELD One quarterback was sharp throwing the ball. The other was spectacular running it. And for good measure, the Florida running backs also were solid. All in all, this was a great game for this group. Starting quarterback John Brantley (24 of 35, 248 yards, one TD) had his best game as a Gator. True freshman Trey Burton produced five rushing touchdowns at quarterback in the wildcat and caught another from Brantley. Each Florida running back also contributed as the Gators rushed for 176 yards. Final Grade: A
