Gators QB Brantley moves on
About an hour after Florida sleepwalked its way to a 34-12 win over Miami of Ohio on Saturday, starting quarterback John Brantley III met up with his father, John Brantley IV, himself once a Gator signal caller.
"He was positive," the younger Brantley said. "He said, "Hey, things went bad. Forget about it. A win's a win. It's your first game. You're 1-0. Just move on from it and learn from the mistakes.'"
On Monday, Brantley said he was taking that advice.
Like most, he wasn't pleased with how things transpired for the Gator offense Saturday at Florida Field during his first career start, but Brantley is trying to be upbeat as Florida prepares for this week's game against South Florida.
"We know what we did wrong, and we're gonna fix that this week," Brantley said.
