Jefferson talks official visits
With college coaches now able to contact recruits more directly Quinton Jefferson has been able to delve a little bit deeper into the recruiting process.
The 6-foot-4, 225-pound defensive end spoke about that and his senior season at Pittsburgh (Pa.) Woodland Hills, which opens up this evening against Manatee, the Florida school.
"We've got that game tonight and we're looking pretty good, just trying to prove people wrong," Jefferson said on Saturday morning. "We're trying to prove Pennsylvania football is just as good as Florida football.
"I'm feeling pretty good myself. Now that I know the defense pretty well and it's my second year in it I think I'll do well."
Jefferson said he has been in touch with the coaches from Cincinnati, Maryland, Iowa and West Virginia since September 1. The coaches have been telling him they will keep in contact with him and they're also pushing for him to visit their schools.
"They've pretty much been trying to get me to set up official visits or make some unofficials just for some games," he explained. "Right now I'm just looking to play some football and after the season I'll set all that up. My parents might set some up before then but I'm just focused on football.
"The two schools I know I'm going to take [official] visits to are Iowa and Cincinnati. I just want to get back out there and get a closer look at everything."
Jefferson is ranked the No. 26 prospect in Pennsylvania by Rivals.com.
