Big play Thursday for the Bulldogs
Thursday morning's practice was a big play day according to Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen.
Sometimes it was the offense striking with a long touchdown pass and other times it was the defensive line coming up with a huge sack but Mullen is still looking for more stability out of both sides of the ball.
"The secondary I really don't think had a great day today," Mullen said. "The offense was making plays. It was a big play day. It was a sack or touchdown type of day. We just need to get more consistency."
Mullen also praised his defensive front following Thursday's practice. Even though the unit was going against an offensive line that returns four starters from a year ago he was pleased with their performance.
"I think the defensive line did a great job," Mullen said. "So I think one question is did the offensive line perform poorly or was the defensive line really improving. I think it's a little bit of both. I think on our offensive line we really have some experience coming back and you get comfortable at times. You've really got to grind to continue to improve with guys who have played a lot of football."
