Sooners Reach out for Farniok
Travel 655 miles north of Norman, Okla. and you will find yourself in Sioux Falls, S.D. where the mammoth 6-foot-9, 319-pound offensive tackle Derek Farniok calls home. Ranked as the third player in his home state heading into his senior year the Sooner commit has been keeping himself busy as he nears his final high school campaign.
"I've just been doing high school football workouts all summer and then some volunteer work at a church," says Farniok. "Everyone comes in and lifts during the mornings and then we run afterwards."
But perhaps the highlight of his summer came at the Sooners three day camp in June where he picked up tips from his soon-to-be offensive line coach (James) Patton while also getting a chance to catch up with the Sooners head coach (Bob) Stoops.
