Beckham back in action
Last year was a painful one for Mississippi State's Twany Beckham.
The 6-foot-5 point guard missed the entire season after having multiple surgeries to remove bone spurs from his hips. But the agony Beckham went through was not all physical. Part of it was being unable to help his team.
"It was painful sitting there watching," Beckham said. "I was sitting there on the sidelines and I wanted to help my team so much. Dee (Bost) was the only point guard on the team and I saw how he struggled sometimes having to play 35 to 40 minutes a game. I wish I could have been out there to help him."
Beckham is back working out with his teammates again this summer preparing himself for his sophomore season.
"Everything is feeling good," Beckham said. "I'm just happy to be back out there with the guys. My hips are feeling good and are about 80 to 85-percent. When we play I'm feeling better than ever right now. I'm happy with where I'm at right now and my progress."
The 2009-10 season was not a total loss for Beckham. He says that he was still able to pick up some pointers from the bench and hopes to add those aspects to his game this year.
