Strong summer leads to four offers for Cox
When spring practice ended West Point, Miss., three-star athlete Justin Cox was still without a scholarship offer.
In fact he was barely even being recruited at all. But the 6-foot-1, 175-pound speedster has put on a show on the camp circuit this summer and picked up offers from four schools.
"I've just been going to camps and impressing coaches," Cox said. "I think my forty time is really what made them start looking at me."
Mississippi State, Alcorn State, Arkansas State and Louisiana Tech have all extended offers to Cox.
Cox's latest offer came from Mississippi State after a dominating camp performance. He practiced individually for the MSU staff and left as the top performer of the day running a 4.41 forty time.
Soon after he left campus, Cox called head coach Dan Mullen and was offered a full ride to college.
"He said that I did well and that he'd like to see me at State playing," Cox said.
Cox has also made camp stops this summer at Ole Miss, Alabama and Southern Miss. He has also been invited back to State for the Big Dawg Camp in late July.
