Tony Alford made a promise to Jermaine Whitehead. The Notre Dame assistant had only seen a few minutes of this 6-foot, 183-pound athlete's highlight tape, but Alford let him know that if the rest of Whitehead's videos looked as good as those quick clips that an Irish offer would be coming. So it wasn't a surprise when Whitehead heard back from Alford last week with some good news.
