GAINESVILLE -- Florida football coach Urban Meyer met privately for 22 minutes with Orlando Sentinel reporter Jeremy Fowler after Saturday's two-hour practice and apologized for confronting him Wednesday to complain about a story written on receiver Deonte Thompson.

"I won't go into the details of the conversation, but I would say that Urban did apologize," Fowler said. "And I feel like as a work-related conversation it was constructive."
