Gordon leaning towards MSU
Logan Lowery
BulldogBlitz.com This past weekend, Porter's Chapel Academy tight end/ long snapper Reed Gordon took his first official visit to Mississippi State.
The 6-foot-5, 230-pounder made the trip up from Vicksburg, Miss., to discuss with the Bulldog coaching staff more about the possibility of walking on an taking over the long snapping duties in 2011.
Since the visit was his first, Gordon was not sure exactly what to expect on the trip but came away pleased.
"It met my expectations," Gordon said. "The first day we went over to Coach (Dan) Mullen's house and had dinner at his house and just hung out. My host was Thomas Webb so I hung out with him some. The next day we went over to the stadium and watched a highlight film on the jumbotron in one of the skyboxes. After that I had a one-on-one meeting with Coach Mullen and my parents about my situation and what I will be doing next year."
Gordon enjoyed spending time at Mullen's home Friday night and spending time with his potentially future teammates.
"At first it was a little intimidating but he had a bunch of players over there and it ended up being pretty fun," Gordon said. "He has a real nice house. I stayed up in the game room a whole bunch of the time."
Gordon has two older brothers that are apart of the MSU family. His oldest brother graduated last May and has another currently enrolled in Starkville. But despite his many trips to campus, Gordon was able to see several new sites as a recruit.
