Ole Miss Preview
Mississippi State and 14th ranked Ole Miss will renew their hardwood rivalry to kickoff the Southeastern Conference portion of the schedule.
The two instate institutions will tipoff at 12:30 p.m. this afternoon at the Rebels Tad Smith Coliseum. Both teams were considered preseason favorites to win the Western Division and enter today's game with a dozen non-conference wins apiece.
MSU is 9-2 in SEC openers under head coach Rick Stansbury which includes a 3-1 mark on the road. Today will be the Bulldogs fourth consecutive season to begin league play on the road winning at Arkansas 70-56 last year.
State holds a 134-105 edge in the series winning the last meeting in Oxford 82-80. The two schools have split the series in each of the past four seasons but last season it was the visiting teams that came out on top for the first time since 1955.
