Lee maturing as a QB
Durham (N.C.) Hillside athlete Vad Lee made the switch from wide receiver to quarterback this year, and while the transition was not easy he did make great strides. Devils Illustrated caught up with Lee over the weekend to find out where Duke stands with the talented local prospect.
On the year for Hillside, Lee passed for 2,013 yards and 10 touchdowns while rushing for 600 yards and 12 scores. In junior high school and on the junior varsity team during his freshman year of high school Lee had spent time behind center. Those experiences did make the transition more smooth than it otherwise might have been, but inevitably there were some growing pains.
