Report Card: Aggies fall in Independence Bowl
SHREVEPORT, Louisiana - It was supposed to be an offensive bloodbath in the Independence Bowl Monday, but after 27 minutes Texas A&M and Georgia remained scoreless. The Aggies, an offense ranked in the top 25 of every major national category, broke the stalemate, but then miscues on special teams kicked in.
Georgia returned the ensuing kickoff 81 yards for a touchdown, and then a minute later blocked a punt to set up a two-yard touchdown run for a 14-7 halftime lead despite being completely outplayed on both sides of the ball. The Bulldogs used more Aggie miscues on special teams and two turnovers to march on to a 44-20 win. Below is our Aggie Report Card.
