Final Iron Bowl tune-up for Tigers
Auburn put the final touches on the gameplan for the Iron Bowl Wednesday afternoon with a 75 minute workout in shorts and helmets.
In just two days Auburn will host No. 2 Alabama in the 74th edition of one of the nation's best rivalries.
"I thought we had a good practice today, just trying to wind everything up and clean up some things," AU head coach Gene Chizik said.
"We've prepared about like we would any game week. Obviously we had the extra couple days, but I think they're at the right place where they need to be right now, both mentally and physically."
Thursday morning Auburn will hold a short walkthrough and then have a big Thanksgiving dinner with the team before busing to LaGrange for an overnight stay.
"We're going to try to do everything fairly early in the morning and try to get them an opportunity after we kind of have a team dinner, give them an opportunity to go see their families in town," Chizik said. "Just try to get some rest and some relaxation with their family before we get out of town."
Auburn comes into the Iron Bowl in pretty good shape on the injury front other than linebacker Eltoro Freeman, who has been nursing an ankle injury but has shown improvement this week according to Chizik.
