Bulldogs tune up for South Padre
STARKVILLE, Miss., - Rick Stansbury stated at his Monday press conference that his Mississippi State squad was better than Texas-Pan American.
Turns out the veteran head coach was right.
The Bulldogs tuned up for their trip to the South Padre Invitational by disposing of the winless Broncs 75-50 in front of 3,214 fans at Humphrey Coliseum.
"We've just got to continue to find guys to come off that bench and settle in and start adding to," Stansbury said. "That will allows us to get some continuity about what we are doing. We haven't had a whole lot of continuity in what we've done up until this point at all."
MSU improved to 3-1 on the young season and never trailed in the contest.
The Bulldogs shot 52.6-percent from the field and outrebounded Texas-Pan Am 45-33 on the evening. State also shot 40.9-percent from the outside knocking down nine treys.
