Practice Insider: Getting back on track
This isn't the time to be polite about how the USC offense has played for the past six quarters. The group has been struggling.
The Trojans have scored just 17 points during that span- a loss to Oregon and a too-close-for-comfort win at Arizona State.
So with a high-powered Stanford offense headed to the Coliseum Saturday afternoon, it's on USC coaches Pete Carroll, Jeremy Bates and others to get things headed in the right direction.
"We just never really got into a rhythm. That starts with me. We never just got into that groove. Had some penalties. We just have to find our rhythm early and ride it," Bates said. "We need to get some simple completions and just keep moving, keep driving the ball. We kept stopping ourselves. We just never were in sync."
